We did the Eiffel Tower today and wandered over to the Norte Dame cathedral. Both were an amazing sight. But alas, we have not fallen in love with Paris like we thought we would. We are both exhausted from travelling around so much and trying to do everything on our list! And poor Joe is recovering from a cold. So instead of rushing through Europe, we are going to slow things down a LOT and change our itinerary around a bit. We are skipping Amsterdam (something to do on our next trip to Europe!) and going directly to Barcelona for a whole week in search for hopefully warmer weather and some time to rest, relax and enjoy our vacation.
Check out St Chapelle near Notre Dame. So beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWe miss you guys! Slowing down is a great idea - all the museums and cathedrals start to blend in together when you rush it!
ReplyDeleteI love your Paris photos! When you get to Barcelona, try to get a hostel near or around Old Town Barcelona- very cute! Also, there's a resort town 20km to the west called Sitges, a 30 minute train ride from Barcelona. Send more pictures when you can!
ReplyDeleteIf you have time, you may want to go to the Canary Islands- a short flight southwest from Barcelona- great place for beaches and foam parties :)
ReplyDeleteawwww, tired already?? but i totally understand your situation. good decision about taking it slow...don't wanna burn out. you've only been gone for a little over a week! hope joe feels better!
ReplyDeleteDiane - It's been three countries in just 7 days, it was exhausting!! Sorry we didn't get to try that restaurant you recommended in Paris but Joe was sick and I have been fighting a cold so it would have been probably lost on us! Joe is already planning on coming back to France in the next few years so we will have to try it out next time!
ReplyDeleteStacey - I think we missed it. We walked around for a few but it was too cold to be hanging around especially since we were both under the weather a bit....something for next time!
ReplyDeleteDen- We just got to Barcelona. Loving it so far, reminds me of Sf, home. :) We are staying on the Ramblas but we will have to check out old town also! Will let you know if we have time to check out the Canary Island. Joe wants to know what is a foam party?
ReplyDeleteo-O what's with Joe's expression in the first picture?
ReplyDeletebut hehe, glad you guys are enjoying yourselves. :) Wahhh.. post more pictures! I live vicariously off your postings!!! LOL!
joe and rit - LOL @ your comment about foam parties. a foam party is exactly what it sounds like. a party with foam! they have foam machines that spit out soap foam. you get wet and soapy -- kinda gross by the end...but memorable nonetheless!
ReplyDeleteHey Audris, that was my response to having to smile for what seemed like the 300th photo that day!
ReplyDeleteCheers
-Joe
